Happy 150th Birthday Canada!
While Canada has grown, CACL continues to flourish as well, creating a more inclusive nation for persons with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Founded in 1958, CACL has its roots in parents coming together to seek better lives for their sons and daughters with intellectual disabilities. Today CACL is a national federation of over 40,000 individual members, 400 local associations, and 13 provincial/territorial Associations for Community Living.
To celebrate Canada’s 150 and how far we’ve come, we’re looking for photos and videos that showcase inclusion and diversity across the country. Send us photos and videos of you, your family, and/or your community with a caption that explains what an inclusive Canada looks like to you. At the playground, at work, in the classroom, or around the kitchen table – we want to see real people living lives of real inclusion!
Our Canada welcomes, celebrates, and includes people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Help us share our vision for inclusion during this national celebration!
