The CACL membership appointed three new members to the Board of Directors at our Annual General Meeting in Ottawa, December 2016. New board members represent diverse regions of Canada including New Brunswick, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. CACL and its membership welcomes Moira Wilson (NB), Vee Faira (NT), and Noah Papatsie (NU). We know you will make wonderful contributions in advancing inclusion in Canada!

Moira Wilson, New Brunswick
Moira Wilson is a Mom of four children, including a son with an intellectual disability. She has been a volunteer board member for her local Association for the past five years and with the provincial Association (NBACL) as a parent representative for the past three years.
Vee Faria, Northwest Territories
Vee Faria is a committed health care professional and educator who has been with the Yellowknife Association for six years. Vee has worked as a clinician and manager and also as a college instructor with Aurora College in the nursing program. She has been seconded more than once to develop strategies for the NWT Department of Health and Social Services to address critical community issues and is currently engaged in this work. Vee is passionate about promoting the involvement of individuals with disabilities in the community and shares her experience and knowledge to support people in her local community.
Noah Papatsie, Nunavut
Noah Papatsie is a disability advocate who began volunteering for the Nunavut Disabilities Makinnasuaqtiit Society (NDMS), CACL’s territorial member in Nunavut, in 2010. In 2016 he was re-elected as NDMS’s President for a second term. Noah was born in Iqaluit after his parents moved from Pangnirtung in the 1960s. Noah says it’s his parents who taught him leadership skills and the importance of community involvement. Noah is a father of three and an active member of the community of Iqaluit. He believes strongly that challenges are not barriers because there is always a way to go around them.
